As a real estate agent, your clients are depending on you to negotiate the best deal possible on their behalf.

 

Here are 3 negotiation strategies to maximize the value of your deals.

1. Know how to sweeten the deal.

Look for ways to add value. 

You can ask the seller if they need to sell the furniture or are looking for flexible move-out dates/rent back?

 

Sometimes just one small thing can make a major difference.

2. Make them think it was their idea.

Remember to do these 2 things:

  • Compliment their choice, 
  • Reassure them they don’t have to do anything they are uncomfortable with. 

Reminding them that nobody can force them to spend their money makes them feel as if it is their idea to go ahead with the offer.

3. Speak on the phone or in-person.

Emails and text messages don’t just cut it. Hearing the positivity in your voice, builds a client’s confidence in you. Personal communication is a masterskill.
